Botox in Kirkland, WA

Soften expression lines without losing what makes your face yours.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription injectable treatment that temporarily reduces targeted muscle activity responsible for certain dynamic facial lines.

At Divine Naturopathic Clinic, treatment begins with your facial movement, anatomy, goals, and medical history. The aim is a measured plan based on where treatment is appropriate, not a fixed number of units or the same injection pattern for everyone.

About the Treatment

What Is Botox Cosmetic and How Does It Work?

BOTOX Cosmetic contains onabotulinumtoxinA, a prescription form of botulinum toxin type A.

Repeated facial movements such as frowning, squinting, smiling, and raising the eyebrows contribute to dynamic lines over time. BOTOX Cosmetic works by temporarily reducing nerve signaling to selected muscles, which decreases the muscle activity that contributes to those lines.

It does not add volume to the face and it is not a dermal filler.

The effect is temporary. As nerve-to-muscle signaling gradually returns, muscle activity and visible movement also return, which is why repeat treatment may be considered if you want to maintain the effect.

Treatment Areas

What Botox Cosmetic May Help With

The FDA-approved cosmetic uses of BOTOX Cosmetic cover several specific types of dynamic lines in adults.

Frown Lines Between the Brows

Vertical lines between the eyebrows, often called glabellar lines or "11s," can become more noticeable with repeated frowning or concentration. BOTOX Cosmetic can temporarily reduce the muscle activity that contributes to moderate to severe frown lines.

Forehead Lines

Horizontal forehead lines develop in part from repeated activity of the frontalis muscle when the eyebrows are raised. Treatment planning needs to consider brow position, forehead anatomy, and how the surrounding muscles work together rather than treating the forehead as an isolated surface.

Crow’s Feet

Crow’s feet are the lines that form at the outer corners of the eyes with smiling and squinting. BOTOX Cosmetic is FDA-approved to temporarily improve moderate to severe crow’s feet lines in adults.

A Natural-Looking Result Depends on the Plan

The goal of treatment is not to eliminate every trace of facial movement. A thoughtful plan considers where movement is contributing to the concern, how much change is appropriate, and how treatment in one area may affect the balance of another.

Your Treatment Journey

What to Expect, Results & Recovery

1
Before Treatment
Your provider reviews your goals, facial movement, relevant medical history, medications, prior botulinum toxin treatments, and any factors that could affect treatment safety. Tell your provider if you have received another botulinum toxin product recently, have an infection or skin problem at the planned injection site, take medications that affect muscle function or bleeding, or have a medical condition that may change the risk profile.
2
During Treatment
BOTOX Cosmetic is administered through small injections into selected muscles. The number of injection sites and units depends on the treatment area and plan. Appointments are usually brief, although consultation and assessment are an important part of the visit.
3
After Treatment
Temporary injection-site discomfort, redness, swelling, bruising, or headache may occur. Follow the aftercare instructions given by your provider, and contact the clinic if you have questions about symptoms after treatment.
4
When Results Appear
According to the official BOTOX Cosmetic patient information, improvement in forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet may begin within 1-2 days, while the full result can take up to 30 days.
5
How Long Results Last
Results are temporary and can last up to about four months for the approved upper-face cosmetic indications. Individual duration varies. Treatments should not be scheduled more frequently than the prescribing information recommends, and your provider will determine whether and when retreatment is appropriate.

Candidacy

Is Botox Right for You?

Botox is familiar. The decision to use it should still be individual.

BOTOX Cosmetic may be worth discussing if dynamic facial lines are part of what you want to soften and you prefer a temporary injectable treatment rather than a procedure that adds facial volume.

It may not be appropriate for everyone. BOTOX Cosmetic has contraindications, warnings, medication considerations, and potential side effects that should be reviewed before treatment.

Do not receive BOTOX Cosmetic if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, have had an allergic reaction to another botulinum toxin product, or have an infection at the planned injection site.

Your provider should also know about previous botulinum toxin treatment, medical conditions that affect swallowing, breathing, nerves, or muscles, and all medications and supplements you take.

A consultation is the place to decide whether BOTOX Cosmetic, Jeuveau, another treatment, or no injectable treatment is the most reasonable option for your goals.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox

Start with a complimentary consultation to discuss the lines that bother you, the amount of movement you want to preserve, your medical history, and whether BOTOX Cosmetic fits your goals.

What is Botox Cosmetic?

BOTOX Cosmetic is a prescription injectable treatment containing onabotulinumtoxinA. It temporarily reduces targeted muscle activity and is FDA-approved for specific cosmetic indications in adults, including moderate to severe frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet.

For forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, the official BOTOX Cosmetic information states that some patients may begin to see a change within 1-2 days. The full result can take up to 30 days.

BOTOX Cosmetic is temporary. Results for the approved upper-face cosmetic indications can last up to about four months, although individual duration varies.

A frozen appearance is not the goal of a well-planned treatment.

BOTOX Cosmetic reduces activity in selected muscles. How much movement remains depends on the treatment area, dose, anatomy, and plan. Your consultation should include a clear discussion of how subtle or noticeable a change you want.

Botox and filler work differently.

BOTOX Cosmetic temporarily reduces muscle activity that contributes to dynamic lines. Dermal fillers add or restore volume in selected areas. One is not a substitute for the other in every situation.

Most people do not need a prolonged recovery period, but temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or headache can occur.

Follow your provider’s aftercare instructions and plan around the possibility of visible bruising if you have an upcoming event.

BOTOX Cosmetic is FDA-approved for specific cosmetic uses, but it is a prescription medication with important risks and contraindications.

Its prescribing information carries a boxed warning about possible spread of toxin effects. Seek medical help immediately if you develop problems swallowing, speaking, or breathing after treatment. Your provider should review the full safety information and your medical history before treatment.

Cost depends on the treatment area, number of units, and individual plan. Contact Divine for current pricing and available offers.
